KPE provided engineering services for the $4.5 million dollar Activity Center which also included indoor soccer field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, batting cages, exercise (& training) room and an elevated running track.

Jackson Elementary School HVAC Renovation – Geo-exchange Heat Pump System design for 57,000 SF school using high efficiency heat pump unit ventilators equipped with energy recovery units.

Eisenhower Elementary School HVAC Renovation – Geo-exchange Heat Pump System design for 54,000 SF school using non-ionizing, polarized media (NIPM) filter technology for Indoor Air Quality optimization. 

Blue Grass Elementary School HVAC Renovation – Centralized, 4-pipe. Geo-exchange heat pump system designed for 55,000 SF school using modern, horizontal, directional boring technology for well field. Design included Energy Recovery Ventilation Units.

Smart Intermediate School HVAC Renovation – Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system designed for over 65,000 SF school.

Adams Elementary School HVAC Renovation – Centralized, 4-pipe. Geo-exchange heat pump system designed using modern, horizontal, directional boring technology for well field. Design included Energy Recovery Ventilation Units.

West High School HVAC Renovation – Centralized, 4-pipe. Geo-exchange heat pump system designed using modern, horizontal, directional boring technology for well field. Design included Energy Recovery Ventilation Units.

Glendale Independence High School – Glendale, Arizona

Media Center/Science Lab - Added and renovated gyms in addition to new Media Center/Science Lab addition.

 Cafeteria Remodel - Renovation of a high school cafeteria with multiple food service stations.

Mesa Public Schools - Mesa, Arizona 

Bus Parking Lot Lighting - Site lighting for the Mesa Public Schools Transportation Parking lot and utilized selected existing poles and new poles as required for luminaire support. 

Phoenix Public Schools - Phoenix, Arizona 

Cartwright-Palm Elementary Remodel - Corridor lighting and administrative area HVAC.

Lewis Central Community Schools - Council Bluffs, Iowa 

School Renovation 1 - Complete renovation to convert 90,000 SF of High School to Middle School with water source heat pump system with energy recovery, lighting, control systems, new electrical, VAC and plumbing. KPE provided all professional engineering and design services for a $2.3 million renovation project. Project included boiler/fluid cooler water source heat pump system, lights, controls, plumbing, piping, electrical power and fire protection.

School Renovation 2 - Renovation of 77,000 SF of Middle School to an Intermediate School with a geo-exchange heat pump system with energy recovery, lighting, control systems, new electrical, HVAC and plumbing. KPE provided all engineering and design and project management services for renovation of existing middle school into an elementary school. The $3,300,000 project also included power, data/com, fire protection, 350 bore-hole geothermal heat pump system, energy recovery ventilators and controls. The three low bids were within 1% of each other and the two low bids were within 0.47% of each other. The project was $250,000 under budget. Client contact was Jeff Carper (712-366-8243).

Gym, Kitchen and Cafeteria Renovation for former High School - KPE provided all engineering and design and project management services for $1.2 million dollar renovation of existing gym, cafeteria and kitchen. Project included lighting, power, fire protection, water-to-air heat pump system, energy recovery ventilators, all new plumbing systems, HVAC and controls (including CO2 controls).

 Middle School Locker Room – including Sanitary Lift Station for former High School.

Intermediate School – 24,000 SF Addition – Includes geo-exchange well field.

Elementary School – Complete renovation of 50,000+ SF with new geo-exchange heat pump system, plumbing and electrical systems.  The $4.1 million dollar project was $400,000 under budget and included a new Administrative area. (BVH Architect)
